Hmmm. I’m not a woman. Nor do I claim to know anything of what women go through. But something tells me that using this instead of this (or this) would be much grosser.
I don’t really know what else to say here except that maybe I’m not alone. This product only has one shelf space at Target.
Ladies?

I can only speak for myself, but I have to say that this time, Seth, you are DEAD WRONG! I have a Diva Cup, which is similar to the Instead Cup except that it's reusable, and I *love* it. Here are some reasons why:
• It holds way more than a tampon or pad, so you don't have to worry emptying it as often.
• It's not made of cotton, which is one of the most heavily pesticide-sprayed crops. I don't want to put pesticides in a sensitive area like that!
• A tampon can be drying and cause irritation. Pads are like wearing diapers. They both smell funny. A menstrual cup doesn't.
• It's a one-time cost, assuming you get a reusable one. No more frantic runs to the drug store.
• You don't have to worry about stocking your purse with extra supplies or being out on the town somewhere, in need of a tampon and finding that you forgot to bring some with you.
• No packaging and used products filling up the landfill or being flushed to the water treatment plants. Using pads and/or tampons also means that those products have to be created, and that uses up a whole lot of resources (from growing the cotton all the way to the packaged products being shipped to your local drug store). A menstrual cup only has to be created once.
As for the gross factor, yes, it is a bit messier. You'll get a little bit of *gasp* blood on your fingers, and you'll have to put your hand *yikes* down there! But honestly, I think this is something every woman should be able to handle mentally. To me, not being able to deal with the "gross" reality of your body is unhealthy. Bodies do way grosser things than bleed.
