In the most stunning news to come out of VML since Nigel left just recently, was today... when I turned in my notice. Yes, that's right, I'm leaving VML and moving on to newer, and potentially greener, pastures.
On December 15, I will start working for Sullivan Higdon & Sink. This is a very up-and-coming agency here in KC (based out of Wichita, KS) that boasts a very talented creative department... and I somehow weaseled my way into it.
I'm very excited, scared, happy and sad about my new opportunity. VML is all I know in the corporate world, it's been my family the past five years, and now I'm going to say "see ya later" (not "goodbye," because saying that sucks). I'll be thrust into a new environment and facing new challenges, but it's something that I've been needing for a long time.
Leaving VML for the last time as an employee will be weird. Being involved in so much of what VML is and does will be a hard adjustment to make. The work will be different... but work, is work, is work. The people here is what made work extremely enjoyable. I will miss them all greatly and know that I'll have to make strides to keep friendships going – I'm quickly learning that's how the real world works.
So, VML, thanks for everything you've given me. The laughs, the heartaches, the pain, the fun, the memories... so many memories. Until we meet again.
